Going into the 2022 model year, Ram gave their 2500 model some impressive updates. First, the Trailer Tow Package has been updated and now includes an LED light above the trailer hitch, allowing you to link up a trailer even in the dark with ease. Inside the cabin, you'll find a new air filtration system that filters out 95% of air contaminants, providing the cleanest cabin air possible. Additionally, beginning at the Big Horn trim, an 8.4-inch touchscreen running the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment software is standard. The future is now with this next-generation software offering things like voice-activated TomTom navigation with over-the-air traffic updates, Amazon Alexa compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and much more. Other newly available features include a digital rearview mirror with tow mode, a new unique grille for the Big Horn trim, and an available 360-degree trailer camera.

A hefty 6.4L HEMI V8 engine comes standard under the hood of the 2022 Ram 2500, offering drivers a pleasing 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of 17,540 pounds. In addition, the V8 engine provides surprisingly good fuel economy by utilizing variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation. For drivers who need even more hauling power, the 6.2L Cummins TurboDiesel Inline-6 is available with 370 horsepower and a mind-blowing 850 lb-ft of torque. This gives the Ram 2500 its maximum towing capability of 20,000 pounds! While both engines are mated to the robust TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, the diesel option is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, rear-wheel drive is standard for the Ram 2500. However, four-wheel drive is available to the entire lineup besides the Power Wagon, where it comes standard.

While the Ram 2500 boasts unparalleled capability and comfort, it is also one of the safest heavy-duty trucks on the market. The body of the truck sits on a steel frame made of 95% high-strength steel. The frame can direct impact energy away from the cabin in the event of a collision, keeping occupants safe. Additional safety, of course, is provided by the airbags. The front passengers are protected by adaptive front airbags that adjust the deployment speed based on the occupant size and the severity of the impact. Airbags can also be found for the driver and passenger's side as well as front and rear side curtain airbags. In addition, the Advanced Safety Group is available, offering adaptive cruise control, blindspot monitoring with rear cross-path warning and trailer coverage, automatic emergency braking, full-speed forward collision mitigation, and an available surround-view camera. The digital rearview mirror uses a rear-facing camera and displays it on the rearview mirror mounted on the windshield; this gives you a view of the road and your trailer behind you, even if you're not in reverse.
