At Gillman Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, we know the absolute importance of providing quality new and used vehicles at our dealership. As the latest news from the Chrysler and Jeep brands entails, it seems apparent that they are dedicated to quality, too. According to the J.D. Power 2016 U.S. Initial Quality Study, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles are the most improved brands.
The IQS study, which is in its 30th year, is based on a 233-question survey conducted between February and May 2016. 80,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2016 models were surveyed after 90 days of owning the car. They are asked several questions regarding the issues with the vehicles’ design and defects.
Following the results of the survey, Chrysler and Jeep brands were recognized as the most improved brands from the previous years. Their scores indicated a 20 percent improvement in initial quality scores from last year’s study.
Top executives for the brands discussed their dedication to providing quality vehicles.
"Our commitment to quality is starting to show results as Chrysler and Jeep make strong improvements in initial quality, but there is still much work to do," said Scott Garberding, Head of Quality for FCA Global. "My colleagues and I are focused on continuing the positive momentum created so far as we look to earn and maintain the trust and loyalty of customers across all our brands."
In addition to Chrysler and Jeep vehicles being named the most improved brands, specific cars received recognition. The Dodge Challenger leads in the Midsize Sporty Car segment in initial quality for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in six years. The Chrysler Town & Country is the highest-ranking minivan in the study, while the Dodge Grand Caravan ranks second in the segment.
