January was a rough month for many in our country with powerful winter storms rolling through many areas. The weather didn't seem to stop the tough and capable Jeep® SUVs that we love here at Gillman Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM, however, as Jeep parent company FCA US LLC reported strong sales during January 2016.
"Mother Nature was no match for our Jeep brand last month as we recorded our best January Jeep sales ever," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales at FCA US LLC.
Jeep vehicle sales gained 15 percent during January 2016 on sales of 59,032 vehicles. It marked the best sales ever during the month of January for the automaker, as well as the 28th month in a row of increases.
Three models recorded their best ever January monthly sales as well, including the 2016 Jeep Compass, 2016 Jeep Patriot, and the 2016 Jeep Cherokee, all of which are available to check out and test drive here at our Jeep dealership in Houston. The 2016 Jeep Compass posted the largest gains for the automaker with an increase of 18 percent on sales of 5,089 vehicles. The 2016 Jeep Patriot followed, gaining nine percent on sales of 8,273 vehicles. The 2016 Jeep Cherokee led the automaker in volume with sales of 15,347 vehicles.
FCA US LLC tallied sales of 155,037 vehicles during January 2016, a gain of seven percent compared with the same month last year when the automaker sold 145,007 vehicles. Last month's sales also marked another milestone. Said Bigland, "Overall, FCA US achieved its best January sales in nine years and our 70th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases."
