The 2017 Jeep® New Compass was released outside of the normal model year rotation, debuting only a few months ago even though 2018 models are slated to hit dealership lots as early as this month. But there’s a reason the new Jeep SUV went out of the box: this compact SUV is unlike any other Jeep vehicle.
Not to be confused with the 2017 Jeep Compass that was released last year, the all-new 2017 Jeep New Compass is the latest version of the SUV and is completely redesigned from head to toe.
Its exterior design steps away from the familiar and rugged Jeep body style drivers have come to know, venturing into more of a sleek and sophisticated design for the Jeep brand. Inside, the 2017 Jeep New Compass comes equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder MultiAir® engine that is capable of producing 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque.
Because it’s the Jeep brand, the Jeep New Compass comes in a Trailhawk® trim that is specifically geared towards off-roading. This model includes 17-inch off-road-oriented tires, a raised suspension, and a special Selec-Terrain® system for rockier surfaces.
If you don’t plan on off-roading in your Jeep New Compass, you’ll still get great features in the other three trim levels, like an 8.5-inch Uconnect® touchscreen infotainment system, rear passenger controls and connectivity, BeatsAudio™ sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and lots of configuration features for versatile storage and space.
Drivers can expect an EPA-estimated 22 city mpg and 30 highway mpg for this Jeep SUV. There’s room for customization with a wide array of two-tone exterior colors and monotone exterior colors.
