The Jeep Wrangler celebrates its 40th birthday in the 2024 model year! After becoming a legend in the automotive market, the Wrangler has maintained its legendary status by staying true to its roots while keeping up with the times. The 2024 model year is a testament to that, as it offers a wide variety of brand-new features while bringing out everything that we love about the iconic model from Jeep. Please continue reading below to learn more about the reimagined 2024 Jeep Wrangler and all that it has to offer!

Updates to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Lineup

There are two new trim levels joining the Wrangler lineup, giving drivers more options than ever before. First off, the Rubicon X takes the capability of the legendary Wrangler Rubicon to the next level. For the basic Rubicon, drivers get superior off-road capability with electronic sway bar disconnect, locking axles, Rock-Trac part-time 4x4, 33-inch Goodyear DuraTrac all-terrain tires, and more. Meanwhile, the 2024 Wrangler Rubicon X features aggressive 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, Rock-Trac full-time 4x4, steel bumpers, and a forward-facing off-road trail camera on top of all of the Rubicon's other rugged features. Meanwhile, customers in the market for America's best-selling PHEV, the Wrangler 4xe, will be pleased to hear about the all-new Wrangler Sport S 4xe, offering a lower price point in the 4xe lineup!

Interior Updates for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Some of the 2024 Wrangler's most significant upgrades come from the interior. Most notably, the instrument panel received a makeover in the off-season, adding a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen on top of the center stack. The horizontal touchscreen features Uconnect 5, with cordless Apple/Android smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa, available TomoTom navigation, a WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices, and much more. The inboard vent, just beneath the touchscreen, is reimagined with a slim rectangular design. However, the iconic round vents are still featured on the driver and passenger sides. While a backup camera is required, the Wrangler's comes with dynamic grid lines to make reversing even easier. While both the driver and passenger are kept safe by front airbags and side seat-mounted airbags, occupants of both rows are protected by side curtain airbags. Other standard safety features include electronic roll mitigation, traction control, and electronic stability control. Meanwhile, additional safety technologies become available beginning with the Sport S. These include adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation. Meanwhile, the higher trim levels add more, like blindspot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, rear park assist, and more.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Exterior Updates

The Wrangler's exterior design is instantly recognizable and iconic. The instant recognition is mostly due to the round headlights and seven-slot grille. In 2024, the Wrangler's grille gets an upgrade, however. While keeping the iconic design, the grille now features a body-color surround, black textured slots, and Neutral Gray Metallic bezels as standard equipment. Throughout the lineup, however, there are some slight variations to the grille to distinguish models. For example, the Willys trim gets a blacked-out look with Gloss Black bezels and slots. Other examples are the Sahara trim, with its Platinum Silver bezels and slots, and the High Altitude, with Gloss Black slots and Neutral Gray bezels. The Current form of the Wrangler features a steel mast antenna, notorious for getting snagged on trees while off-roading. To avoid this, Jeep gave the 2024 Wrangler a windshield-integrated stealth front antenna. Tire sizes range from 32 to 35 inches, and cover wheels range from 17 to 20 inches in diameter. The Wrangler still comes standard with a removable soft top, however, it is upgraded for the 2024 model year. The black and body color hardtops are both still optional as well. The Wrangler's open-air freedom is part of what makes it so iconic. That's why Jeep makes the 2024 Wrangler as open as possible with available features like the Sky One-Touch power top, Sunrider for Hardtop, and half doors.

Engine and Drivetrain Options for the 2024 Wrangler

The Wrangler engine and drivetrain lineup is carried over from the previous generation, with a 285-horsepower 3.6L V6 engine as standard equipment with 260 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, Jeep's 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine is optional, providing 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated with two electric motors and a rechargeable battery pack to make up the 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle system, providing 49 MPGe, 375 horsepower, and 470 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the legendary 6.4L HEMI V8 comes exclusively with the Wrangler Rubicon 392. Spanning 395 cubic inches, the HEMI engine provides 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. While the V6 engine comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, an eight-speed automatic transmission is available. Meanwhile, models equipped with the turbocharged, PHEV, or V8 powertrains come standard with the eight-speed automatic. The Wrangler's legendary off-road handling begins with its 4x4 systems. Standard equipment is Command-Trac part-time 4x4, while the 4xe lineup and turbocharged models come with full-time Selec-Trac 4x4. Exclusive for the Rubicon is Rock-Trac part-time 4x4, while the Rubicon X and V8-powered Rubicon 392 come with Rock-Trac full-time 4x4.
