Ram 1500 Maintenance Schedule

The Ram 1500 comes with a handy indicator light to let you know when to change your oil. This intelligent sensor analyzes several different factors such as oil quality, engine size, fuel ethanol level, and more so you know when it's time to change your Ram's oil. The intervals will be determined by the Ram you have, the oil type, quality, and driving conditions. If you only use your Ram 1500 for light and everyday driving, you're going to want to get your oil changed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. If you drive a moderate amount, then you're going to want to get it changed every 5,000-8,000 miles, and if you do a lot of towing and off-roading, you're going to want to get it changed every 3,000-5,000 miles. When you're due for an oil change, you will know when you see an orange box on your dash that reads "oil change required." Once you see this light, head down to Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram right away so our technicians can complete an oil change. Never go more than 10,000 miles without an oil change.

When you get to the 20,000-mile mark, you'll want to get a few essential items done by our team here at Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram! Our technicians will check your Ram's front suspension, and we will inspect your brake linings and replace them as needed. Once you reach 20,000 miles, you should also get the cabin air filter replaced as well!

When you reach the 30,000-mile mark, you will want to have our experts here at Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram inspect your front and rear axle surfaces and check your fuel level. If you are using your Ram 1500 for certain types of jobs such as police work, taxi driving, fleet services, off-roading, or frequent towing, you're going to need to have your axle fluid changed as well. Here at Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram, we will also inspect your transfer case fluid, replace your engine air filter, and inspect the CV/Universal joints.

At the 60,000-mile mark, you will want to have all the services performed at the 20,000 and 30,000-mile marks performed again by our experts at Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram! Our experts will also check a few other things, such as your transfer case fluid. Having your transfer case fluid changed is extremely important if you are using your Ram 1500 for police, taxi, fleet, or frequent towing purposes!

Once you get to the 100,000-mile mark, that is a significant milestone for your Ram! On top of everything done at the 20,000-mile mark, you should have your spark plugs replaced and have your engine coolant flushed and replaced. The latter should be done every ten years or before you reach 150,000 miles. You should also have our experts here at Gillman Chrysler Dodge Ram check your PCV valve and replace it if needed. When you get to the 150,000-mile mark, we will perform all of the services done at the 30,000-mile mark and replace your engine coolant if you have yet to do so. If you're engine has stop/start technology, you're going to want to have the accessory drive belt with the OEM-grade Mopar belt
