The Jeep Badge of Honor Program
Learn about the details from Gillman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
If off-roading is an interest of yours, you've probably have heard about "Jeep Badge of Honor" program. This program was developed by Jeep in 2013 to recognize famous off-road trails around the country and reward those Jeep owners that travel there to traverse them or just check them out. Read on to hear more!
How does the Jeep Badge of Honor program work?
The Badge of Honor program is an app-based program that allows off-roaders to obtain recognition by visiting famous off-road trails around the country. Anyone can register, check-in at the trails, rank themselves on the app, and registered Jeep owners can receive "Hard Badges" from Jeep when checking-in. These hard badges can be mounted on the vehicle if the owner would like to display them.
The Jeep Badge of Honor app is available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. It has information about each Badge of Honor trail and a live weather forecast. Users can earn points, post their photos, and engage with other off-roaders.
How many Jeep Badge of Honor trails are there?
There are currently 56 total trails that have been identified by Jeep as Badge of Honor trails in the US. Jeep added seven new ones to the list just last year. The trails range from "difficult terrain to... steep upgrades" with difficulties from novice to expert. The 56 trails are scattered throughout 21 U.S. states.
Here are the 21 states where you can find Badge of Honor trails today: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming.
How do you get a Jeep Badge of Honor?
First, you check in on the app at the designated trail and confirm your location coordinates. (Note that you don't have to actually traverse the trail. You can just travel to where it is, although the real Jeepers may frown upon this!) After you check in, you can get your digital badge. After this, registered Jeep owners can request a physical Badge of Honor directly from Jeep. It can take 6-8 weeks to deliver your badge, but it is free!Â
What If I don't have cell service at the trail?
This is not uncommon because so many of these trails are remote. Don't worry, though, you can still check-in on your phone offline and once you get a signal again, the app will count your visit.
