What is the Ram 1500 Ramcharger?

As we mentioned above, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger seamlessly integrates gas and electric power. Starting with the gas side of things, the Ramcharger features the tried and true 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. The electric side of things begins with a 130-kilowatt onboard generator working in conjunction with the V6 engine. This generator works with a 92-kilowatt-hour liquid-cooled battery pack to power two Electric Drive Modules (EDM), one on each axle, enabling all-wheel drive function. The front axle hosts a 250-kilowatt EDM, while the rear is home to an EDM with 238 kilowatts. Powering the Ramcharger is somewhat of a complex process. This process begins with the V6 engine creating mechanical power and sending it directly to the aforementioned onboard generator. The generator then converts it into electrical energy. This energy can be used to power the wheels when the driver wishes to conserve battery power and recharge the battery when it is low while driving. However, to achieve maximum power, drivers can select a drive mode in which the EDMs will draw power from both the battery and the generator. By having no direct mechanical connection running from the engine to the wheels, the Ramcharger offers a remarkable driving range of 690 miles!

The excitement we have about the Ramcharger goes beyond its efficiency, it is also positioned to provide unrivaled performance with impressive power numbers. The Ramcharger's stats include 615 lb-ft of torque, 663 horsepower, a 4.4-second 0-60 time, and an astonishing 14,000-pound towing capacity. The Ramcharger is also capable of taking on a diverse range of terrains with numerous features, beginning with the high-tech axles. The front axle features a cutting-edge automatic wheel-end disconnect feature. This enhances the truck's efficiency when road conditions are ideal by allowing the front wheels to spin freely rather than sending power to them from the EDM. When driving in conditions that can be classified as less than ideal, the system will send power back to the front wheels, reverting to all-wheel drive. This happens automatically without any driver input. Meanwhile, the rear axle's EDM is complemented by a rear differential with electronic locking for enhanced control when traction is limited. The Ramcharger also features four-corner air suspension with Normal, Enter/Exit, Aero, Off-Road 1, and Off-Road 2 modes for optimized ride heights. Lastly, the Ramcharger's body sits on the all-new STLA Frame platform, specifically designed for full-size electric vehicles. Made up of inventive materials, the new high-strength steel frame is meticulously crafted to be durable and stiff while remaining lightweight. 

As far as truck interiors go, Ram has always gone above and beyond. The all-new Ram 1500 Ramcharger continues this with a unique cabin that prioritizes durability and comfort with premium materials throughout. In the design process of the Ramcharger's cabin, comfort and functionality were the primary concerns. Ram used premium materials such as leather, metal, and carbon fiber for the Ramcharger's interior, seamlessly blending them to create a modern yet luxurious feel. While a 12-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen comes standard, an all-new 14.5-inch touchscreen is available for the Ram 1500 Ramcharger. The larger touchscreen features a split-screen option for dual functionality. Behind the comfortable steering wheel, you'll find a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster where you'll find all the essential vehicle information and other information like driver assists, navigation, and more. Other available technology features include a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, a 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premium sound system, and an all-new 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen for co-piloting features. The Ramcharger still uses Ram's familiar rotary dial for P/R/N/D. However, it now features the electric drive modes around it. These modes include Electric+, E-Save, and Eco. 

The entire Ram 1500 lineup received a makeover for the 2025 model year, which the Ramcharger draws from while adding its own distinctive design elements. Let's take a quick walk-around tour. Beginning at the front, you'll notice a more commanding road presence, with a grille leaning forward and wearing a completely redesigned 'RAM' emblem with LED illumination at the center. As a whole, the front fascia of the Ramcharger is a seamless blend of traditional Ram design and subtle upgrades. To distinguish the front end from that of the regular Ram 1500, the Ramcharger's front end features a modernized body-color design. Moving to the side, you'll notice a striking character line running the full length of the truck, seamlessly blending its different sections and putting a stunning side profile on display. The front driver's side front quarter panel is where you'll find the charging port. This port is designed with two charging receivers. The top is for Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging, while the lower is for a Level 3 DC Fast Charger. The rear features distinctive upgrades, beginning with a power tailgate with a reimagined RAM emblem, boasting the model's contemporary style. Lastly, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger features full LED lighting with redesigned headlights and taillights.
