HYBRID MODE

The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.

ELECTRIC MODE

When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

The Wrangler 4xe is a PHEV, which stands for plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. This means that it combines a gas-powered engine with a rechargeable battery and an electric motor, creating a hybrid powertrain that can be recharged to help you cut down on gas! In the case of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, you'll find a 2.0-liter direct-injection inline-4 engine rated at 375 horse power and 470 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a pair of two electric motors, and a 17-kWh lithium-ion battery that can supply the Wrangler 4xe with up to 21 miles of all-electric driving range. There are three driving modes to choose from when you're behind the wheel, Electric, Hybrid, and eSave. In Electric mode, you can travel for up to 21 miles with virtually no emissions. When the battery runs out, the Wrangler 4xe will automatically switch over to gas power. Lastly, eSave mode is the opposite of Electric. In this mode, the Wrangler 4xe will prioritize the gas tank first, allowing you to save your battery's charge for later. Once your gas tank runs low, the Wrangler 4xe will switch into Electric mode. Jeep has partnered with QMerit to make it easier for drivers to install home charging stations! With the Jeep Level II charging cable, you can achieve a full battery in just 2 hours.
